I’m sharing this not to look like a “good person” but to demonstrate karmic reality.
Here’s the story:
I choose to go to an American-owned Mom & Pop gas station where the owners speak English and aren’t babbling on an earpiece in a foreign language. Never again will I patronize 7-11.
I’ve gotten to know the people who work there. They’re every day people, not fancy, and they’ve had rough lives. Many would consider them “White trash” but they’re hard working Americans and to me they’re more beautiful than any celebrity.
One older lady is always so sweet to me. As time went on, my coffee has been free. She always had pretty nails I loved to compliment, but it’s been a while and she said she can’t afford it.
As I got my coffee this morning I remembered I had $50 cash in my wallet from teaching yoga.
I knew I should give it to her. I hesitated a moment but handed it to her saying I believe in tipping well for good service.
This lady is one of those invisible people most don’t even notice. Yes, my act was kind, but without fail it always comes back to me in a bigger way. It’s a win-win.
Once you start living this way you’ll never go back. Buy the groceries of the person behind you. Overtip a good waitress—always. Tip where tipping is not expected.
You can do it for selfish karmic reasons, but regardless you’ll be much happier. I promise.
I have a feeling my next yoga class will be even bigger.
(And for those who will comment “this never happened” I wish you well. I don’t lie. Karma is real. Liars get what’s coming to them.)
